Anti aging home remedies

The skin is the largest and most visible organ of the body. It plays a major role in the appearance of a person as well. Skin that is well cared for will make a person look refreshed, younger and healthy. On the other hand, skin that is not properly cared for can make a person look tired, older and unfit. This is the reason why many invest time and money in skin care, after all an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. However, not everyone has the money to spare on commercial skin care products. Here are some great budget friendly home remedies for anti-aging skin care.

Go for antioxidants

Even with commercial products, antioxidants play a great role in keeping skin looking young and keeping away free radicals that cause damage. You can get your own dose of antioxidants from a lot of different foods. Green tea contains a good amount, so drinking a few cups a day will have positive benefits. Foods rich in antioxidants:

  • Dark colored fruits and vegetables
  • Nuts
  • Legumes

Moisturize

One of the best ways to keep skin soft, supple and elastic is by providing it with moisture. There are a lot of home products that can be used to effectively do this. Some of the best options for for anti-aging skin care and nourishing skin from the outside include shea butter, coconut oil and olive oil. These can be applied after taking a shower to help keep the skin hydrated.

Peel off the old skin

Sometimes one of the reasons skin looks dull and old is because of the old skin that is on top. Get scrubbing and get that old layer off to have softer, younger and fresher looking skin. A scrub can easily be made out of a mixture of salt or sugar and honey. Other options are baking soda and lemon, or even coffee grains. All of these can help to get rid of dry skin and have their own benefits. Keep in mind though that exfoliating should not be done daily to avoid sloughing off too much of the upper layer of the skin. Three times a week should be enough.

Stay Hydrated

The skin needs to be moisturized on the outside, but also from the inside. The old cliché about drinking at least 6 to 8 glasses of water a day is true. By drinking enough water you can keep your skin and your body hydrated, helping it to fight off dryness, lines as well as wrinkles and giving you a natural glow.

Exercise and Sleep Right

This is another of those home remedies for anti-aging skin care that seems to be overused, but actually makes sense and works. By exercising, circulation in the body is improved helping to give that natural glow. Also, it helps the skin eliminate any toxins that can clog up pores and cause outbreaks. Of course getting the right amount of sleep and rest helps the skin replenish itself as the cells have enough time to grow and regenerate.
